We recently held an editorial shoot at Mountain Top Resort, and everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The location is absolutely breathtaking — surrounded by the natural beauty of Vermont’s mountains, forests, and lake views, it's truly a dream setting. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, which made our work seamless and stress-free. This resort isn’t just picturesque — it’s perfectly designed for events. It’s easy to see why so many couples choose it for their weddings. Between the views, the peaceful atmosphere, and the impeccable service, it’s one of the most beautiful venues we've worked with. Highly recommend Mountain Top Resort for weddings, events, or just a peaceful escape. We'll definitely be back!
We just spent a weekend at the Mountain Top Resort for a wedding. The location is lovely, situated in the beautiful Vermont mountains. My honest review though is to inform others what it is lacking. The rooms have a nice appeal, but do not provide enough for a place that is a wedding venue. There is no full length mirror, minimal counter space in bathroom with dim lighting, no magnifying mirror, no hooks to hang towels, and closet hangers that could not hold dresses; they kept sliding off. The shuttle service was good and efficient to get around the resort. We went down to the lake to utilize the kayaks, which was a lot of fun, but we couldn’t stay after to relax on a lounge chair because they did not provide any umbrellas to protect you from the sun. Overall, it was a nice experience attending a wedding here but for close to $400 a night with the wedding discount it definitely was not a five star. I give it a 3.
My friend and I meet for a weekly dinner get together. Recently we chose the restaurant at Mountain Top as it had been a while since we went there. First, I had to call twice requesting a reservation. I left a message on the reservation line and 4 hours later, I did not get a call to confirm so I called again. When we arrived, we were offered a seat in the empty dining room. We requested to be seated on the tavern side. WE were concerned that we might be overlooked in that space. We were offered a table in the corner. We requested to be seated at the table next to the windows and an open door (we had requested outside seating when we made the reservation). Once seated, we sat and sat and sat. No one acknowledged us. Two other tables were seated after us. They received water and service shortly after being seated. After 20 minutes, we stopped a staff member and asked if they could send over our wait staff to get water and a drink order. Shortly after that, a person came over to. say that another person would be with us shortly. A little bit later another person came over and stated that our server was "very busy" and they would be taking our table instead. Finally, we were given water, our drink and food orders were taken. The server who took care of us was apologetic and provided good service. Just unfortunate that our overall experience started so poorly. Will be taking a break from supporting this area business for a while.
