The Mowbray

I had an absolutely excellent stay at The Mowbray. The staff were amazing—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything I needed. The breakfast was delicious, with a great selection and everything cooked to a high standard. The location is perfect too—just a short walk to the seafront, theatres, and town centre. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be returning!

Came here for the Tennis a few years ago and it was an ideal place to stay for that week. With the grounds literally across the road and the beach at the opposite end, location could not be anymore perfect. Room is a little tight. But as I was only using it for sleeping and showering, it wasn't a major issue. As a Tennis fan, the view is fun as my room was over the players entrance and you could see everyone come in and out. Breakfast is solid and I made the most of having the kippers available.

There is a problem with a parking space. There is no breakfast. The rooms are hot, the windows do not open, the fan is broken. There is no air conditioning. The shower does not work well, you can only wash in boiling water or cold water. The door in the shower stall is broken or missing. It's time to change the bed linen, it's old. A mirror on the opposite bed creates a feeling of insecurity and a sense of being watched. The room can only be used to sleep at night. Stuffy, hot, uncomfortable.
