The Muse New York

Our first trip to New York and we selected this hotel based on ratings in the area. We were very pleased with our room, cleanliness, and staff attentiveness. An extra special shout out to Lisa in the bar. Lisa became a good friend during our short stay. We found Lisa to be extra friendly, eager to share directions and many city recommendations. Overall, a great stay. Thank you!

I really wanted to give The Muse 5 stars but this is where they fell short: 1. Rooms facing the main street will endure ALL the city noise from the 6am jack hammering to the 1 am party in the street with loud car music and drag racing. 2. Rooms could use a deep cleaning as corners and showers stalls and toilet seats were full of crud 3. The lighted cosmetic mirror didn't work. Things that were acceptable: 1. Location is just steps to times square and Broadway to the east and 5th Ave shopping to the west. 2. Front desk staff and concierge is friendly and helpful as well as housekeeping 3. Bed and pillows were comfy and the rain shower is a nice addition.

Rooms are nice. Workers vary depending on their mood. We had to pay for a room we didn’t use one night because our flight was canceled. We called to let them know several hours before we were due to arrive. Annoying but understandable. They didn’t make any attempt to mitigate our loss. Breakfast is weak. Two items and one coffee. They charged 2 dollars per bag to store our bags after checkout which they did not tell us about up front. They simply told us storing bags would be no problem. Bad vibes
