Beautiful location, beautiful building. Room small but adequate, pillows too hard. Staff excellent, I had contact mainly with Karen who went over and above to assist me. Lovely lady. Breakfast wonderful, everything you could possibly want. Splendid weekend.
Lovely location, beautiful property with lots of space. The service was good, the food was decent, and the rooms could be better. It's a beautiful property with lots of greenery, great for walks and retreats. The food was good and tasty, there are a lot of meeting spaces. The bar is quite decent as well. The rooms, for an international traveller like myself, weren't up to mark. It was small, cramped up, no place for my suitcase or clothes (a small wall closer for few shirts is available). The shower cubicle was a nightmare as it was tiny, and just didn't find it practical. If it's for a retreat for a short time, it might be okay as you can accommodate a lot of people, but if you're having people over from overseas, staying longer with suitcases etc, might not be the most comfortable. Pls consider the tiny bathrooms.
A friends review. absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. horrible dirty uncleaned rooms, not just ours but all in the party we booked with. our room hadn't been cleaned in heaven knows how long as we were treated to a terrible stench on opening the door and we found a sandwich that was stale and mouldy and a boiled egg that had exploded. the fan in the room was tiny and an absolute waste of time, considering the tiny dirty smelly room you'd think a fan would be able to cope, but honestly it didn't, probably 4 quid off of WISH. the bar was closed because "they had a wedding" but we were not informed before that the bar would be closed. don't walk around the ponds unless you like seeing dying, dead and decaying fish. the breakfast looked nice.... but that's where it ended, 2 sausage from the same tray, 1 nice 1 tasted disgusting. bacon tasted "off" and I saw nobody actually eating it. best thing I heard during our stay was from a staff member who told us "yes it's horrible, it's closing down in September and nobody really cares anymore". shame as it was a lovely looking place just a complete dump inside and the reception staff must have been trained by the local GP...... DO NOT BOOK HERE IF YOU WANT ANYTHING DECENT. Me personally I’ve stayed in better transit accommodations and shell scraps in the trees and woods in the middle of nowhere. I’m shocked at the pricing of it all and will be fighting to get some sort of refund on it just seems to be no care on the rooms or the building itself because it’s closing in September shame really because it could be really nice.
