Date Of Stay: 26-30 May 2025 Type Of Accomodation : 1 Bedroom sea-view Pool Villa. The Naka Island resort is absolutely incredible. With a service level that is completely mind-blowing and a location that provides unbeatable privacy and serenity to guests, the resort takes luxury leisure holiday to a whole other level. We arranged hotel transportation from the airport which was easily located once you leave the arrival hall and head to Exit 2 where all the hotel transfers are located. It was a short and pleasant ride to get to the jetty. Prior to getting on the ferry to the resort itself, we were taken to the welcome lounge at the pier where check in was done over coffee and biscuits in the very well appointed lounge. With the check-in squared away within minutes we were whisked off on a private boat to the resort, and the magic begins as soon as we get to the hotel jetty with the wonderful story telling of the legend of the island, the striking of the gong and the refreshing drinks. Throughout our stay, every single staff member -from the wait staff to the water activities attendant to the quality manager right up to the General manager- made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked-after, never failing to engage us with warm conversation, encouraging us to make the most of our stay at the resort. Shout out to Nils Minken the General Manager who was so visibly hands-on and is doing such a wonderful job with The Naka Island. And to chef Santosh who was always present to make sure our food met expectations. A special acknowledgement too of khun Aunz Tachapon Takham, the Nakha Island’s HR Director who really went out of his way to make us feel special. Khun Aunz was at the resort’s Sunset Ceremony on the day we arrived, and we happened to mention to him during our conversation that the next day we plan to go into town to shop for snacks to consume for the duration of our stay. By the time we got back to our villa after dinner, Khun Aunz had prepared a bag of delicious complimentary snacks for us with a very lovely cheerful note that this bag of snacks was to tide us over till we go shopping! This is just one example of the many little similar warm gestures from all the staff that made us feel truly special. F&B was also fantastic with delicious offerings at all the restaurants, the Tonsai’s Thai Cuisine and daily breakfast being my personal favourite. The steaks at MyGrill were also perfect, as were the cocktails and light bites at Rum Chapel. Downside; Our villa was very cosy and comfortable and had a nice view of the ocean and the nearby peat swamp. If there is any downside at all, it is only this: the villa is separated into two sections -the main bedroom and living area and the bathroom, dressing and shower area in the rear. The bedroom and living area is perfect, closed off, fully airconditioned and well appointed in a quaint rustic but still luxurious style. But the bathroom area is not airconditioned and separated from the outdoors with mesh windows. This represents quite a challenge for glasses-wearing people like me because every time I step into the bathroom area, my glasses fog up. It became quite annoying having to take them off and wipe them to be able to see, every time i step into the bathroom area. Another challenging aspect of the villa is that because the bathroom area is not completely closed off to the outside, and you are in a tropical island with dense foliage and nature all around, you will invariably find creepy crawlies like the odd gecko on the walls and pillars especially at night, and if you dislike them this can be quite an experience. The resort has informed me that they are in the midst of renovations and all the villas will be fully enclosed and air conditioned once the renovations are completed in November 2025. I look forward to returning to the Naka Island to experience these renovated rooms.
Magnificent experience and one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in my entire life, after visiting more than 20 countries. The welcome was amazing, starting at their special lounge at Ao Po Pier. They took care of our luggage and stored some of it there, as we didn’t need it during our stay. Then we took a 10-minute speedboat ride to the island. We received a second warm welcome at the island pier, where we were served delicious welcome drinks and took part in a local tradition by striking a gong twice. The staff then brought us to Ton Sai Restaurant, where we enjoyed an amazing lunch with breathtaking views. Afterward, they drove us by golf cart to our private villa, which was fascinating—very spacious rooms, a nice and very clean pool, and gorgeous views over the jungle. We had a great time relaxing in the afternoon and also spent some time on the beach. The next morning, breakfast was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious dishes and fresh fruits. The staff were incredibly helpful and cooperative during our check-out. They even arranged the right speedboat back to Ao Po Pier and booked a taxi for the rest of our trip in Phuket. We regretted having only one night at this resort but will definitely return next time for a longer stay. I highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Phuket. You will be absolutely amazed, I promise!
Villas are absolutely huge for the price, they come with so many features and are designed uniquely in a very beautiful way. Despite all of this, they can get kind of dirty with dead bugs and grime. One could argue that this is inevitable in a barefoot luxury resort, but there are plenty of hotels similar to this that do not struggle at all with this problem. Biggest highlight: breakfast buffet; even better, I was offered a quick massage right as I left the buffet. Innovation in hospitality. I fell asleep waiting for my buggy 💤.
