The Nook

A real gem! Great unspoilt multi-roomed pub with nine of their own ales on the bar from cask. Friendly and helpful bar staff. Dog friendly in bar. Slightly tucked away but in the centre of town.

Highly recommended we will go back, Ideally situated in the middle of the village of Holmfirth conveniently close to everything we went to see a show in the picturedome which is only 2mins away Lovely clean rooms 1 double bed and a double sofa bed,sofa bed wasn't very comfortable to be honest, good choice for breakfast very well presented,staff friendly helpful and service with a smile 😀 Double bed was ok but sheets looked like some one had slept in it all creased up and didn't smell very fresh on 1 side of bed we came out of show around 10.35 and went to the bar situated at the Nook they were not serving snacks(crisps etc) or lightbites we sat outside with our drinks watching the world go by 1 of us purchased 1 tray of cheesey chips from the shop across the road and we were going to take it back to our room we were hungry so all had a nibble of it and asked the man in charge of the bar if he had any napkins we wanted to take our drinks and food to our room he said no, then came out to us sat at our table with our drinks and the food purchased across the road you would have thought we had tried stealing the crown jewels he came dashing outside and abruptly said did you buy that here clearly knowing that we hadn't I said no love you wasn't serving food and you didn't even have any snacks so I popped across the road i said can we take it back to our room he snapped at me you cant eat food at our table why are you staying here?i said yes love, he had only 4hours before been falling over himself because we were booking in now I work in the hospitality business and if 3 women had come in 4hrs before you would recognise them 😀 I work long ass shifts and remain cool calm and collected even at the end of a long shift this is called being professional i know customers can be aweful but we were all happy had a great evening hadn't had an alcoholic drink may i add I think maybe the man running the bar needs to take a course in customer service we didn't even think we just said if we get something to nibble we can take it to our room yes we were eating it and no it wasn't bought from you but nicer ways of approaching people and identifying the elephant in the room .....

Lovely food, first time trying your menu and is worth the price. As always great atmosphere from The Nook.
