The O Hotel Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Good Central Location in Downtown LA close to the Metro. Overall good value stay. Clean and comfortable room with a large queen bed and walk-in shower. The hotel was generally quiet and peaceful. The included breakfast was sub par. Store bought pastries, minimal selection and bad coffee. We ended up going out for breakfast the remainder of our stay.

Excuse me for being direct with my review, but this is not to be overly critical about the O Hotel, just to share my subjective experience. The location is good because it's right in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, however, the streets smell like urine and there are flies everywhere once you step out. Not really the hotel's fault, but more the City of LA. The rooms are small, no big deal, but the water pressure in the shower is very weak. The drain in the bathroom sink is slow, but at least the toilet flushes. There is a duct split for AC and heat in the room, just no central HVAC. It's an old building so that makes sense, but the hallways and the breakfast area were hot and stuffy, even at 6:30am. There is no hotel parking available, but there is a parking structure right next door that also smells like urine. The customer service is good. I was greeted and welcomed to the hotel and breakfast is included. Overall, it's not a bad or "crappy" hotel, rather it's dated with modern renovations. The bathroom fixtures should be upgraded and the plumbing redone but I doubt it since this is an old building. Price wise it is a bit less expensive than other hotels but these are still LA prices. If you don't mind the cons above, then book your stay.

Overall, our stay was lackluster. The building looks pretty from the outside as well as the inside. However, there is much to be desired. The staff is incredibly quick to help any concerns you may have. The problem with the hotel is that there are many concerns. On our arrival we noted hair on the shower head and gum on the shower door that was not ours. We ignored it for the night as it was past midnight for our arrival and we were tired. We waited for the cleaning service to address it the next day while we were gone. They came by and the hair remained. We called the staff to clean it again in which they did right away. We noted the shower would not get hot and only stayed warm. The staff were quick to address this; however, it was not resolved and we were relocated to another room. In our new room our steam iron did not work. The staff were quick to replace it with a new one. The next issue we encountered is that our room was never serviced. It was skipped by, entirely, to where we needed to call someone to bring us fresh linens and towels that night. Our stay has been slightly frustrating but we made the best of it. Again, the staff are wonderful and kind but the attention to detail is definitely missing.
