A Perfect Unexpected Treat at The Oaksmere We only stopped by The Oaksmere for a quick drink, but the setting was so beautiful we couldn’t resist staying longer – and we’re so glad we did! The gardens are absolutely stunning, the perfect place to relax and soak up the surroundings. What started as a casual visit turned into a lovely tapas lunch in the sunshine. The food was delicious – fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about quality here. The staff were brilliant too – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made the whole experience feel really special. A spontaneous stop turned into one of the highlights of our day. We’ll definitely be back!

Children will love the outdoor play area, while parents can relax knowing everyone is catered for. Even four-legged family members aren’t left out – dogs are welcomed with open arms, making The Oaksmere a rare find for pet-loving travellers. Dining is an experience in itself. The Orangery restaurant combines modern elegance with rustic charm and serves exceptional food made with seasonal, local ingredients. The pub also offers a cozy alternative, perfect for a pint and a hearty meal in a more relaxed setting. Set in breathtaking grounds, the whole estate offers a sense of peaceful seclusion while still being easily accessible. It's the kind of place that captures your heart from the moment you arrive – and once you’ve been, you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you've even left the driveway, I know I am!!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at The Oaksmere during the summer while exploring the local area, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The Sunday roast was, without a doubt, the best we’ve ever had – perfectly cooked meat, generous portions, and packed with flavour. The setting is just as impressive as the food. Steeped in history, The Oaksmere is a beautifully restored country house with roots dating back to the 15th century. The mix of historic charm and modern luxury creates a really unique atmosphere. The grounds are stunning and ideal for a peaceful stroll or a relaxed drink in the sun. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay, and the rooms were stylish, comfortable and spotless. An absolute gem in Suffolk – we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
