Great place for a meal, very friendly welcoming staff, excellent chef. Interesting menu and a high standard of food but reasonably priced. Never knew about this pub before as it's on the less busy side of the town. But I would recommend seeking it out, a short walk from the main car park. It's much better than a certain pub near the car park in terms of quality of food and service!
Excellent location for exploring Hay, friendly, helpful staff and lovely food. We stayed in room 8 in the annexe which was clean, very comfortable and extremely quiet despite being right next to the pub and on the road. The fan in the room was appreciated on such a warm night. Lunch and breakfast were tasty with great local produce used. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff with them sharing tips and info on places to go and chatting like we were old friends despite this being our first visit. We will definitely be back!
We came here for the second time and were not disappointed – in fact, it was even better than our first visit. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. There’s a great selection of dishes, and everything we tried was full of flavor and really well prepared. The atmosphere is very welcoming – both dog- and child-friendly, which made it perfect for us. We’ll definitely be back!
