The Old Rectory

Such a sweet and relaxed perfect hotel. It’s peaceful, and quiet unlike a lot of hotels, no slamming doors or noisy kids in the middle of the night (maybe we were lucky, or the walls are actually thick!) staff very polite and professional, pool was clean and beautiful surroundings. Haven’t had the breakfast yet, but Iv high expectations as the conservatory setting and outside seating looks so inviting, clean and pretty. If you want old fashioned service with no apps to log on or cards to swipe… people talk to you and you feel welcome :) great location. Wroxham down the road which I love. It’s the little things.. hot chocolate and biscuits in the room after a swim, few magazines and good working telly.

We have only ever attended special occasion parties and weddings, so didn't stay and cannot comment on accommodation. Food was by way of an excellent barbecue, the weather being kind. The venue is centred around an octagonal room of reasonable proportion with plenty of out door space in the summer months. Thaw bar and toilets are small but neither were 'overwhelmed' at anytime. Bar prices were predictably higher than average and seemed a bit haphazard. Real ale is only available in bottles unfortunately. There is limited parking out front but I think there is an overflow off to the right on entry (?).

Have to say that the venue as a whole is incredible. The grounds are immaculate and the breakfast was to die for (the sausages were particularly good). The only let down for me was the room (otherwise I would have given 5 stars). Room 9. Reminded me of a premier Inn room. Why are showers always designed for shrimps? The shower screen moved far too easily too. That said, it was clean and adequate. Was there for a wedding.
