The Old Stable

Excellent stay, centrally situated for the surrounding area. Nicely converted property within character of the building. Property a good size, bigger than I originally thought on booking, good sized rooms, property very clean, all required amenities. Hosts always on hand if needed, met James, made us feel welcome. All in all, excellent value for money, and definitely recommend the Old Stable

We stayed for quite some time between November and January and were so pleased that we had found The Old Stable. James and Joanna are wonderful hosts; not intrusive but always available if needed. The Stable has everything to suit your needs: a well-equipped kitchen; comfortable lounge area with smart TV and a lovely gas-fuelled stove for those wintery evenings; a cosy bedroom - although twin beds; a utility room with a combo washing machine dryer and a small bathroom with a lovely hot shower. We did hear the church clock (the church is just opposite) which chimes throughout but we didn't find this intrusive. In terms of location, Great Hale is a quiet little village and only a short walk from Heckington which has all the facilities you would need as well as the 8 sail windmill. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would recommend.

We stayed here for one night in October 2024 and we were very impressed with the accommodation which was spotlessly clean, tidy, well-equipped and very comfortable. The host and hostess were warm and friendly and couldn’t have been more welcoming when we arrived. Great value for money! My wife and I will definitely be staying here again when we next visit the area.
