The Old Vine

I came here with my wife around midday to try the food. I had the pie of the day (chicken and ham) & my wife mussels. As a culinary chef I find it difficult to find food that is actually worth paying the money. This place hits every single expectation of a chef. The gravy is fantastic, perfectly balanced and seasoned to perfection. The pastry was light and didn’t have a soggy bottom! If I was to pick on the smallest most single thing just to be ‘that guy’ the parsley garnish could be finer. But damn that’s me really struggling to find a fault. The mussels were prepared correctly with a beautiful sauce, light and fragrant. I absolutely will be back and would love to shadow the chef to help develop my own practices. The staff behind the bar are friendly (Mitch especially), great atmosphere, appropriate music, nice decor. Well done chef.

This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had ... the meat was such high quality, you don't need any filler ingredients. The fish pie and pulled pork sliders were freaken amazing as well. I was hoping they had their meat pie (I drove back here for it) but they changed their menu (also they are child/dog friendly, and you have to book in advance).

Great atmosphere lovely decor! Had a meal to celebrate the service was attentive both the servers we had were friendly and helpful. Meals were great! Chef takes pride in his work! Halloumi bites and garlic mushrooms were the best we’ve ever had! Will definitely recommend!
