The Old White Lion Hotel

We did not stay here so no stars for the rooms. However, we did eat here and it was tremendously good value and quality. I had the steak and ale pie, with mash and garden peas. the pie is served in the pot and has a nice puff pastry topping. The filling was incredible. There were huge chunks of tender, flavoursome steak. (It made the old Pedigree chum adverts look like they were advertising mincemeat.) I cannot comment on the puddings as we were too full from our main courses to eat one. Very friendly staff, fantastic beers, kept well and served well.

Beautiful old pub, lovely atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. I didn't stay overnight here so I can't comment on the rooms. I'd definitely eat here again and rate the food to be superior to some of the more expensive restaurants in the area that were very much hyped. I had beautifully cooked duck breast with a lovely cherry sauce and my partner had perfectly cooked and seasoned rib eye steak. Staff were friendly and service was good.

This is the perfect pub for a few days away in Haworth. Great food, service, people and position. Right at the top of the beautiful cobbled road. With an array of fabulous shops, cafes , bakers and restaurants. A few minutes walk from the famous Bronte sisters museum, a few minutes walk to the steam railway station . If you like old pubs this is a good one. Also has it's own carpark. As parking can be hard to find in the centre of Haworth. Our evening meal was superb. My good lady had chicken breast in peppercorn sauce with potatoes and a choice of vegetables. I had chicken and chorizo in ribbons of pasta in a sauce. It's was fabulous hot spicy and very tasty. Desserts a simple apple pie with custard and a delicious sticky toffee pudding. Both excellent, all food cooked in-house. We had room 6 with views looking right down the cobbled road. A good double aspect room. So light, bright and airy. Price £113.00 a night incl breakfast. Which was definitely the best all English breakfast I've had in a long time. The staff were just perfect, when we arrived we had a problem with the booking. They said there is no booking in your name. Even when we produced our details they still had no booking. After 20 minutes of emails phone calls and talking with a robot !!!!!. They found what the trouble was and we were quickly in our room. Highly recommend this old world pub.
