Had dinner on the Sunset Terrace with my daughter Monday evening. Exceptional service from the hostess to the server, Alex! Alex made the dining experience a great time. She is knowledgeable, conscientious and fun to dine with. We were so impressed with delicious drinks and food she recommended! We will be back and will also request Alex to be with us next time at the Sunset Terrace!

The Grove Park Inn and Spa offers beautiful views from its bedrooms and dining facilities. We have enjoyed dining at the Spa, Edison Bar and Patio, The Great Room and the Blue Ridge Restaurant. Sunset views are awesome! The Great Room is a good place to sit and enjoy the fire in the rocking chairs or a game of dominoes or cards …bring your own games. It tends to be a bit noisy at night with music and people gathering to socialize. The spa offers excellent services and the staff is courteous and efficient. Spa services are not cheap, but you get a beautiful venue to relax and great massages. The golf course is well maintained and the staff are pleasant. You might see turkeys or groundhogs on the golf course. They even had a momma bear and cubs on the course this spring. On a Friday or Saturday night you can participate in the Dueling Pianos where audiences tip the pianists to play their favorite songs and acknowledge birthdays, anniversaries, college allegiances or even divorces! Christmas time gets quite busy at the Grove Park with the Gingerbread house competition bringing in crowds to view the gingerbread creations. It’s one of my favorite times to stay.

We had a great time here overall. The spa was enjoyable and it was a nice way to spend the weekend. Only downfall is that the staff isn’t quick to assist/ forget to assist. Some issues we had was our room did not have all the needed toiletries. We requested shampoo and they never brought it up to us in time. We also requested additional toiletries (since the bottle are so teeny tiny 😫) and they never brought it up to us. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear almost everything. There were kids running around and being loud in the room next to us in the morning, we called the front desk to assist and they said they would have someone check in, and they never did anything about it. For how expensive this place is, they didn’t meat all of our expectations. The drinks at the bars are also very mediocre for being almost $20 per drink.
