Great location and nice to have a small but functional kitchenette. Bath great, roomy with a big shower. Bed comfortable but a little on the soft side for me. Comfortable seating area and quick elevators. A little far from the Victoria and Albert waterfront area but Bolt ride share is cheap and quick. There is a Woolworth Foods a block away for most all your needs. Good and affordable choice for a Cape Town stay

The rooms are modern, well-appointed, and exceptionally clean, with stylish interiors that reflect a sense of quiet luxury. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail—from the quality linens to the generous amenities—was truly impressive. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop pool and lounge area, which offers stunning views of Table Mountain and the city skyline. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. The hotel also features an excellent restaurant and bar, where the service was efficient and the food consistently exceeded expectations. The Onyx is conveniently located within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront and several key attractions, yet it maintains a calm and exclusive atmosphere—ideal for both business and leisure travelers. I highly recommend The Onyx Hotel for anyone visiting Cape Town who values comfort, sophistication, and exceptional service. I will definitely return.

We really had a comfortable stay! The staff: very attentive and friendly.. provided us with eve we have asked for (a baby cot, batteries, brought our delivery food) and the cleaning service is perfect The rooms: wide, clean and well equipped (full kitchen utensils, bathroom essentials and bathrobes). The neighborhood: We felt safe in our stay.. there are 24/7 security in the street. However, we haven’t tried to walk around the area. But it looks like a luxurious part of the city center since it’s surrounded by convention centers and companies and hotels. The location: a 10 min ride to V&A waterfront. You’ll need an uber for every activity or attraction but it’s in the center of Cape town so it was convenient.
