The Orange Tree

We arrived as a couple plus dog for a late lunch on a Sunday in August. The pub stopped serving at 3 pm but no problems fitting us in for a full meal at 2:50. The Sunday lunch menu was centered around roasts and a selection of generally conventional pub mains, along with some interesting starters. I opted for the fish and chips, which I must say was one of the best I've had in a pub for a long time. The (large) fish was cooked really well with a thin crispy batter, and the presentation was equally good. Caramel tart for dessert was also excellent . The staff were very friendly and efficient, enhancing the overall experience. I would highly recommend the Orange Tree and would return next time we are in the area .

Love staying at the Orange Tree with our dog & children. Breakfast is fantastic and have only ever had brilliant evening meals there too. I have given the rooms 4* as even though the larger suites are brilliant (EG. Dragonfly) I would argue some of the courtyard rooms could do with a little updating for example, the shower doesn’t always work as well but they are a much lower price point. It is always a great experience and the staff are always super helpful, we really enjoy staying there.

We stayed for a few days Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, with great staff. Evening meal was not so good, on Tuesday 15th, the food took 45mins to arrive, apparently due to a large table being served. The food was only just warm when it was finally served. The young lady serving us was more interested in her watch, however the gentleman behind the bar was excellent.
