The Orchid Lonavala

The food was really nice and flavorful. The location is pleasant and convenient, offering a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was quick and responsive, ensuring a smooth and comfortable stay. However, the weekend stay prices are quite expensive and may not feel fully justified. Overall, it’s a decent option for a short getaway, especially if you’re focusing on food and service.

We booked this resort for my 33rd Birthday from 16th till 19th June 2025. There are few pros and cons for this property. Pros: 1. The location is good as we have Mapro Garden, Narayani temple, few wax museums and the main market accessible under 1-2 km distance. 2. Food here is very good. We included dinner and had many options to choose from. It wasn't a buffet but the food was very delicious. 3. The ambience is very good. The play area has games like carrom, pool and chess in good condition. There's a Need for Speed game as well which you can play. Cons: 1. The rooms don't have fans and no ventilation in the room. The washroom has a small ventilator. Upon asking they said no room has ventilation. 2. At night due to the power cut the room AC stops and though the power comes back, the AC sometimes doesn't start on its own. Happened 2 out of 3 nights with us. Upon complaining they said there are remotes to switch them back on however we didn't get any remote. The AC was centralized and the switch was wall mounted. 3. Housekeeping didn't keep any body wash or room slippers on their own. We had to ask for them. Their number was always ringing and we had to inform the reception to send someone if we needed to change towels or water. 4. There is a button in the room to call room service to change the bedsheet and clean the room. We kept the button on and wanted to get the cleaning done however to our surprise, the housekeeping arrived the next day when we were not in our rooms and used duplicate keys to open the door and cleaned it. We had our clothes in the washroom and few valuables hence wanted the room to be cleaned in our presence. When we complained about this, the receptionist mentioned we got the hotel stay at a very cheap rate including dinner (We paid 18k for 3 days with dinner and breakfast from their website). He should have immediately called the housekeeper however he said he will speak to the manager which we don't think he did. I think they treat people based on the price they booked the resort. 5. The swimming pool wasn't clean throughout our stay so we didn't use it.

Extremely disappointing experience at Hotel Orchid Lonavala. The AC wasn’t working in the lobby, front desk, or even the restaurant — unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be five-star. There’s no smoking area anywhere on the property, and no hospitality or support staff — no one to help with luggage at check-in or check-out. We had to carry everything ourselves. We booked 6 rooms for 2 days and the room service was very poor. Even after requesting cleaning, they only mopped the floor — they didn’t refill water bottles or replace basic amenities. Not worth the price at all. Highly not recommended.
