I recently stayed for three nights in this well situated hotel for doing all your touristy things in the historical district. I stayed in the La Traviata room on the second floor. Very large room and bathroom. A hot water bottle and better lighting above the bathroom mirror would have been great. Nights are chilly! I wish I had had my flannel pajamas! I arranged transport to and from the airport through the hotel which worked well. Breakfast is made to order until 9:30 am. The staff were wonderful. I was a worry wart about crime as a solo woman traveller but had no issues. There is a grocery off the main square called Exitos where I bought my water and snacks. Make sure to have money for public toilets—1k pesos. Gold Museum is free on Sundays. Thanks for a lovely stay!

My group and I had a great time here! The building is really beautiful, the rooms are all unique and luxurious with historic feel but modern bathrooms, and the service was outstanding. Richard always had a smile and was super nice. It is in a great location and we walked to most everything we wanted to do. I thought breakfast was so fun! It is included and you can order as much as you’d like. This was the first spot we stayed in Colombia and our favorite!

Located on quite street in Candelaria. Has probably 8 rooms. Interior is lavish old mansion. While located in safe area, you have to knock on door to get in, but they have 24hr concierge inside and it's OK from safety points. Room we booked was spacious, but bathroom was build as partition in the room. The door to the bathroom was not closing and it walls are not to the ceiling. Toilet had very little water flow. So after day of eating beans and chickens you had to leave room for 15-20 min to let it ventilate or use a bathroom downstairs in the reception area. Also shower was just warm and u had to wait 5 min to get it to that temperature
