The Orient Jakarta a Royal Hideaway Hotel

The room was comfortable, though I must admit—it was a bit of a letdown that the TV wasn’t positioned in front of the bed. I understand the layout choice, but let’s be honest… some things are best enjoyed under the covers. That said, the coffee? A dream. Capsule coffee was provided, making late-night unwinding feel a little more luxurious. Breakfast was a standout—chef’s kiss. The egg royale was divine, the pastries were genuinely excellent, and every bite felt perfectly suited to my taste.

The room and the pool is magnificent! But I find that the room doesn't really suitable for family. The room doesn't have much table to put things, like they only have tiny side table for us to put things, which I find not practical for two people staying or even family. I suggest to add more tables 🥹 Alacarte breakfast is delicious! I love the smoked salmon with avocado toast!

It's a very impressive interior design. You're diving into another world, really into a hideaway. Everything is thoughtfully put together. Materials, forms, light, composition. There is plenty to see and to discover, a true masterpiece in interior design. It made me wish to stay longer and recommend to friends and family if there wouldn't be the lack of soundproof rooms. I had terrible night's because of the traffic noises that continued until 3am in the morning. Especially scooter with big low frequency exhausts keep you awake. Thus was on the east side of the building. You also hear the neighbours' TV or phone calls. Then there is cleanliness especially in the bathroom and toilet as there were a couple long hairs. Some parts of the room and the hotel lack maintenance. My airconditioning rattled and I switched it off during the night. The towel bar was loose, the leather on the paper towels box gets loose. There was a big leakage in the library that got unnoticed by staff as was the sound system that switched on and off, making me leaving the library. There is also a leak in the elevator. Check-in took quite a while as it seemed that the rooms hadn't been chosen by arrival. The swimming pool is impressive, yet very darkly lit with to few deck chairs to chill on. Breakfast is really above value for money, a lot of variety presented in small amounts as not to waste food. Staff is doing its upmost best, but as a customer you don't understand why there is so much staff doing nothing (ultimately the customer pays for that). I would love to love this place as the interior design is really overwhelmingly impressive, but the noisy rooms really kill the stay as there is no proper sleep.
