We are a family of five and booked this hotel last minute — and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were warmly welcomed and assisted with our luggage. One thing that stood out right away was how well the staff spoke English, which made communication very smooth and easy. We had two rooms on the same floor, which was very convenient. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to find some fresh fruit waiting for us. Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side and the view wasn’t the best, but honestly — we weren’t there to look out the window. What mattered to us was cleanliness (especially in the bathroom) and good service, and we experienced both at a top level. The location was also a major plus — everything was within walking distance, making it easy to explore the heart of Hanoi. If we had to mention one thing that could be improved, it would be the limited breakfast options for those who don’t eat pork or beef. We shared this feedback at checkout, and we hope it can be taken into consideration.
Exceptional Stay – Class Service and Hospitality! Our stay at The Oriental Jade Hotel in the Old Quarter, Hanoi, was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. The level of care and personal attention truly sets this hotel apart from others in the area. A special mention must go to Owen at reception, who was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. He handled all our bookings—tours, transport, and restaurants—with great efficiency and genuine care, always making sure everything ran smoothly. His professionalism and warmth made a real difference and added a personal touch to our experience. Rosie in reservations was also incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. She was always quick to respond to our questions and requests, making the entire booking process seamless and stress-free. Her attention to detail and friendly approach really stood out. The rooms were spacious, ultra-clean, and beautifully maintained. You can tell the housekeeping team takes real pride in their work. Everything was spotless and well thought out, from the linens to the amenities. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The selection was impressive, catering to a range of tastes, and everything was fresh and well presented. The breakfast staff were attentive and always greeted us with a smile, creating a welcoming start to each day. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the Old Quarter—but tucked away just enough to offer a quiet and peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle outside. Whether you’re exploring Hanoi for the first time or returning for another visit, this hotel is ideally situated. Overall, The Oriental Jade Hotel exceeded all expectations. The customer service here is some of the best we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. It’s clear that every staff member is genuinely committed to providing a high standard of service, with warmth, professionalism, and a personal touch. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi and will absolutely be returning on our next trip. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay!
This is a Vietnamese 5-star hotel and for the price, the service level goes over and beyond what one would expect. I had a slight problem with my bedding and one phone call prompted the staff to check and rectify the problem immediately. Water pressure in the shower was strong, toiletries were house brand but lightly scented and did its job, white fluffy towels, decent hairdryer, sufficient space for my skincare etc., numerous mirrors and plugs. Only problem was curtain pelmets were not long enough to keep the street lighting/ morning sun out. I travelled with my elderly parents and they had a problem with their room. They had requested for a shower stall instead of a bathtub for safety reasons, but due to a miscommunication by our travel agent, this wasn’t provided to them. The hotel went out of their way to change their rooms and even offered a complimentary upgrade and other benefits even though the fault lay not with them. Front desk provided recommendations and arranged our dining needs expeditiously, providing detailed directions. Hotel was centrally located with shopping and dining all around. Breakfast had a good spread, including a variety of local fruits, which I liked. As for the spa, one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Mai although young, was very professional, with great technique and pacing, knowing exactly what she was doing. She was determined to and did indeed knead all the knots in my shoulders out. Special shout out to Nancy, Brian and Mai. I would definitely recommend the Oriental Jade to anyone looking for outstanding service - they really do their best to please.
