Stayed for the night after being let down by a flight. The room was big and cosy, bed was very comfy and large. I didn't eat because I was too late but the beers are very good, and the coffee is nice. Staff are all brilliant, and the beer garden is amazing. It is a bit loud at night under the flight path, but I guess everywhere is around here.
I loved staying here. It’s clean, cozy, and convenient to the airport and to public transportation. The people who work here are kind, friendly, helpful, and they do a great job keeping a beautiful old inn comfortable and up-to-date. Breakfast was very good, but I want to make some time to go back for dinner here. Also important, it’s pet-friendly. Now - if you don’t want to stay near a neighborhood pub or an airport, and you need total silence, it may not be for you. I found a nice balance between some peaceful pub goers and a few takeoffs and an otherwise quiet street, so it was perfect for me. Many thanks to the staff!
So, the place was great. The staff was pleasant, rooms were nice and food was good. I do have an issue though.. I do not think I have ever stayed in a hotel before were there wasn't at least a nightwatchman. Even the most run down, ratty establishments had this... I think it's the height of irresponsible management to not have at least that. What if there was a fire or some sort of emergency? At least give guests the run down with a phone number., procedures etc of what to do in the event of something going wrong. It could even be something as simple as leaving your room in the middle of the night and locking yourself out. I think it behooves the place to do something about this. As I said, everything else was amazing, this factor was too glaring to ignore however..
