An exceptional stay in a paradise-like setting! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely idyllic, with breathtaking views of the beach and ocean from our tent accommodation — comfortable and truly unique. The staff was incredibly friendly, always smiling, helpful and attentive. The manager was also very kind and welcoming, even though we couldn’t communicate much due to the language barrier. The food was outstanding — original, delicious dishes with flawless service. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the overall kindness of everyone working there. Thank you again to the entire team for welcoming us despite our booking mistake. We’ll be happy to come back and highly recommend this place without hesitation!

Hi there, The Overhang is an absolute paradise on Tanzania's mainland at South Beach 1,5 hours ride from Dar es Salaam. With two private beaches, you can truly unwind without any hassle—no pushy vendors trying to sell you fake massages or tours. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, and you can enjoy the beach practically all to yourself. The kitchen is fantastic, serving outstanding meals from breakfast through dinner. Adam, the guest relations manager, goes above and beyond, even driving the golf cart to drop you off at the restaurant whenever you need. The beachfront tents are the perfect spot—just a stone’s throw away from the ocean. Falling asleep to the soothing sound of the waves while resting on a great balanced mattress in a fantastic tent with great amenities—AC, a mini bar, and more—is pure bliss. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend The Overhang enough for anyone looking for a serene getaway! Great place, different room / house sizes depending on number of people. Self catering option available and there is a restaurant there as well. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Sea on this side can be rough so need to be careful.
