I wanted to cancel a room booking due to the London Edinburgh London cycling event that was stopped due to storm Floris impact and this hotel was a planned stopping point. I called the hotel to cancel and requested a refund and told refunds even with 2 days notice we’re not given in their policy. I was told to read the small print and if they gave refunds they would not be in business in a fairly rude manner and showed no understanding. Will not be booking this hotel when I cycle through Louth next time and will pass on to other cyclists competing in London Edinburgh London. Disappointed but just don’t like being spoken to like that…but thankfully raised nearly £1000 for Leicester Headway having completed 400 miles in.2 days of the planned 1000 miles

MAJOR ISSUES**** Stayed, everything was okay, standard 3* facilities. No issues. We get a call after our review on booking.com. we have them a 6/10 which we thought was more then satisfactory. Then Liz decided to ring us, asking about our stay, and said she was sorry we didn’t score it higher but they’re only used to 9/10 out of 10. She said she’d like to give us a refund, on us getting the card details she asked us if we really think we deserved a refund and decided to verbally abuse us over the phone. Telling us she’ll be banning us from booking.com and disgracefully texting my partner with disgusting messages and verbal abuse. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about this place since my stay. And since we was local, it’s utterly disappointing, she then told booking.com we was kicking off over no food/bar facilities but we had meals booked elsewhere before we booked our stay, so this was irrelevant, locking us and others out of the hotel and we had to wait 45 minutes just to get back in. Made us feel small. But it wasn’t even the stay, it’s the customer service from the so called woman in charge big liz. Won’t be staying here again due to this fact.

Quite honestly the person I dealt with on the phone is the rudest and most passive aggressive person I have ever encountered. She told me wife and I that we were suspicious and not welcome and then lied about this. I would avoid even thinking about staying here. Having read numerous other reviews, it seems I am not alone. I am very easy going and simple to deal with. Save yourself the grief and book some other places.
