The Palace at Playa Grande

Beautiful beach. Small bay-like shaped with rocks at each end. Maybe 1km of beachfront. Expect moderate waves. The locals have implemented an area for sitting and you can order from their menu. Prices are moderately high, but it's always slightly steep when you eat at a beach. Nevertheless, it's more moderate than pricey. They also sell souvenirs and rent surf boards. The sand is soft and grainy of a light-brownish color. Little to no rocks on the ocean floor (it is the Atlantic ocean, you know) so no need for water shoes. Im 5'10" and 10 meters in the water is slightly below my shoulders. It's a great beach overall. It can get creowdy though...

Beach was great! The servers are great. Had the best time celebrating our anniversary there.

One of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. It's not in a main town that most people stay in while traveling in the DR, which makes it appealing. The only downside is that it is still very touristy. There are a lot of vendors there. A lot of the stuff is nice (especially the higher quality of the larimar jewelry). Food and beverages are available.
