The man with glasses checking us in was very nice and gave us a brief tour at check-in and told us all the rules, which was nice; you never get that anywhere. They let us check in an hour early, too. Rooms were very modern, clean, and COLD. Nice AC situation! Loved the unit's own front patio + door that opened right to the pool view. Pool was open 24 hours, very peaceful, quiet, and clean. Even had pool floaties to use, which was great. Relaxing and comfy vibe overall.
The Palm Springs Hotel is a beautiful mid century modern boutique style hotel just north of downtown. Upon check-in, we received a warm welcome from Krista. She's a real gem. She provided us a tour of the hotel along with lots of great tips for our stay. Our room was quite nice, clean and modern with a cool Sinatra 'rat pack' vibe. The hotel offers a gorgeous 24-hour pool and hot tub, including private lounging areas and a fire pit. We look forward to returning to the Palms Springs Hotel on our next visit.
When I travel to Palm Springs, I always seek an inclusive and warm atmosphere, where I can truly unwind. My choice of hotel was based on my personal preferences, and upon booking, it seemed to offer everything I desired, including a reasonable price. However, my experience took a sour turn upon arrival. As soon as we stepped into the lobby, I could sense an unwelcoming energy. The manager on duty that afternoon had a demeanor that felt dismissive, making us feel as if we were merely children in his playground. The rolling of eyes from staff members was hard to miss, adding to the unease of the situation. While the hotel itself is stunning, boasting beautiful architecture and inviting decor, the excessive rules and regulations overshadowed its appeal. The atmosphere felt more like a strict institution rather than a getaway, with rigid policies on early check-ins and late check-outs that left little room for flexibility. This rigidity contributed to a frustrating experience, as I found myself navigating a maze of dos and don’ts. However, not all was lost during my stay. When the manager left for the day, two women at the front desk brightened the atmosphere with their kind demeanor. They were notably accommodating and genuinely sweet, which provided a much-needed contrast to my earlier interactions. Ultimately, despite the hotel's beauty and the kindness of a few staff members, I left feeling disheartened. And as a proud LGBTQ+ person, one would think a hotel called The Palm Springs Hotel would embrace the Palm Springs vibe. I will not be returning to this hotel in the future, as the experience did not align with the welcoming energy I had hoped for.
