Fantastic stay. Staff were lovely, room was really nice and clean. Great bed. Bathroom very good size with really nice shower products. Breakfast was perfect. Great choice on the menu for breakfast and one of the freshest continental breakfast iv come across with a really good range of things to choose from.
Hotel was spotless and staff very welcoming. However very disappointed with our high tea and certainly not worth £22.50. The bread was dry and the cake selection poor. The scones were the best.
Disgusting attitude of one arrogant person ruined what is a nice place to be. As a local I like to meet a friend here most weeks for a beer or 2. This has been going on for many years. The service has always been excellent and I have got to know many of the staff over the years and all have been polite and welcoming. The hotel is nicely presented and clean and has a lovely view over the park. Today I parked as I usually do and had my dog with me. As dogs are understandably not permitted in the hotel I walked him around to the front outdoor seating area. I was then shouted at by a rude man with a cigarette in his mouth saying that I could not park in the hotel car park to walk my dog. I explained that I was meeting a friend, as I do every week. He then rudely and arrogantly intimated that I was lying and that he would ‘keep an eye on me’. How dare he?! 1. As an ambassador of the hotel I do not think that smoking whilst talking to a customer is a great impression. 2. How dare he accuse me of lying? 3. If I was parking to walk my dog in the park, I would use the plentiful parking down park lane. As a long time customer, who also puts money in the till in the quieter months not just high season, I am disgusted and appalled at the way I was accused of lying, the arrogance of the ‘person’ who confronted me but yet happy that the hotel must be doing so well that they can afford to lose continued business, even through the winter months. I am afraid that I do not have his name as when I asked him he refused to give it to me, called me ‘bloke’ and then told me to ‘move on’. Shameful and disgusting attitude to a loyal customer. I also note that my company has paid over £40k to the Park over the last 10 years for staff to stay at the hotel and I will be discussing alternate corporate arrangements with my CEO on Monday.
