The resort is one hour from the city. If you want to see Chiang Mai town and all temples, this is not a ideal hotel location. However if you are like us, want to chill out and do some light sports activities, Pavana is great for this. We came at early March which appears to be off season. There were very few guests here. We enjoyed the quietness a lot. The only restaurant in the resort serves average food. Service level varies between different personnel. Generally staff is friendly and helpful. The only issue we have experienced is the dog barking and fighting at night which can be very loud even for a deep sleeper like me. Majority villas of the resort is privately owned. I am not sure whether those nightly roaming dogs belong to them or staff quarter right behind the resort.

I have stayed here each visit to Thailand because my father lives on the premises. He has a friend that owns a house here too, so I luckily get to stay for free. The property is quite beautiful, away from the busy and noisy city. The food is a little pricey, but I have had no issues with it, except most Thai restaurants don't understand what foreigners expect for service. The only gripe I've got is that they sometimes start playing what I can only consider as noise, over the loudspeakers throughout the resort at a very early hour. There are 2 pools, both beautiful and the grounds are maintained fairly well. It's a very nice place to stay.

I stayed here with my mother as it was close to my school and I was taking my exams at the time. We had a bad feeling as soon as we reached the resort - the staff was generally unhelpful, the accomodations were lacking in several areas including a kitchen faucet in the downstairs bathroom, the bathroom lights were not working and there is a distinct lack of hot water which, in the winter season is absolutely dreadful. One of the staff was also extremely disrespectful and talked about my mother IN FRONT OF HER in Thai, thinking that she is a gullible fool. During our visit to the restaurant, the female staff was also very cold in her responses and treated us as inconveniences. Wi-Fi is also non-existant, at least from where my mother and I were staying. When asking for the Wi-Fi, the staff were rude and even left out some critical information. In short, don't go here for any reason; the staff are lacking, the accomodations are dreadful and any place would be better than here. Seriously, I would rather stay at my school residences than here, it's that bad.
