The Penkelie

Fantastic little bed and breakfast. Excellent location, spotless clean and great breakfast. Owner Lisa was a very nice host. Couldn't say anything negative about this stay and certainly will have no hesitation in going back next time we are in the area.

I chose the Penkelie Guest House in Southport mainly due to it's location near the seafront. Secondly for it's price for me to visit Southport for it's Airshow & stay at the Penkelie Guest House for 3 nights. On arrival I was warmly Greeted by the Manageress Liz who showed me to my room & we finalised Breakfast arrangements for my stay . I Can Safely Recommend the Penkelie Guest House to Anyone because it is Well Presented & the Manageress is Superb. The only downside it does have stairs to negotiate but it's not spoilt my stay here . From MR.R.JONES.

You cannot go wrong here. Lisa maintains a spotless, well kept guest house, the bathrooms are immaculate and shine( wish I could make mine look so good). Her hospitality is the best, she herself is friendly and great for a chat or not whatever you prefer. She keeps her rooms freshly stocked with tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, sugar, milk, water cooled in a mini bar fridge and small packets of buscuits on arrival. The very comfortable beds range from double to super king-size depending upon the different rooms and I think you can have twin ( never needed then myself). The rooms are kept clean to the very highest order with neat and stylish decor. She is a great cook and her full English breakfasts are wonderful although you could have a smaller breakfast if you prefer with a good selection cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits and toasts also available you are sure to Start the day feeling loved and cared for. Penkelie is perfectly situated for a short 2 min walk to Lord Street and all the shops and bars etc or a five minutes walk to the pier and beach. The convention centre is almost just across the road. There are so many great places to eat within a short walking distance but book in advance during peak times to be sure of getting a table where you want to go. I have stayed at Lisa's many times I cannot recommend her to you more highly, definitely the best guest house I've ever stayed at.
