Stayed overnight for business 30th July 2025. The Ash Tree is recently refurbished and reopened after being taken over by local residents. It has several rooms to let above the pub. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and the evening meal and full English breakfast were both excellent. Some well kept real ales at reasonable prices. The manager and manageress were both very friendly.

Stopped by The Ash Tree for a quick lunch and it was such a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely fabulous — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the halloumi skewer with rice — perfectly grilled and paired with a surprisingly delicious spicy tomato sauce that adds just the right kick. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're just passing by or looking for a cozy place to enjoy a satisfying meal, this spot is definitely worth a stop! A hidden gem with food that delivers big on taste. Will definitely be back!

Lovely small country pub that has recently been redecorated after being rescued by the village residents. It's a family run place where we received a warm welcome. The lunch menu is small but well chosen, catering for vegans, vegetarians, as well as flesh eaters. The fish and chips was very nice, served with unusual minty mushy peas, lemon, and tartar sauce. Portion sizes were good and the price was reasonable for the size and quality. There is local beer on tap to complement the meal. Heartily recommended.
