I stayed one night at The Poppy and I’ll definitely be back! Nico sent a detailed text with how to check in and get to my room. The room was huge, bed comfortable, every amenity you could ask for. The sound machine was an added bonus. It’s in a super cute area of Georgetown with a market across the street. I loved being able to come and go as I please without having to deal with elevators and checking in etc. I didn’t have my family with me this time but I would definitely bring them here.

I don't say this often because it sounds corny/cliche but this was truly a magical experience. You don't expect this from the unassuming exterior what the interior and the garden will look like. But it was stunning. I booked a room here a few months ago as part of my anniversary gift for my wife. I worked with nico (the general manager) and he couldn't have been more accommodating throughout the process. From the moment I walked in the door and until I checked out, he was a pleasure to interact with. The room was beautiful and the little touches nico made took our experience to another level. I look forward to our next stay.

We only had a one night stay, rented the king room with the tub. Overall the concept of the hotel is cool, the self-serve is a nice system for getting in and out, grabbing a drink from the main area, etc. Dog-friendly hotel and there arent many of those out there. I did almost rate it a 3, however. Call it a 3.5 rounded up. The good: comfortable and spaceous bed, clean bathroom with a fantastic tub and a nice shower. Location is great - lots of attractions and restaurants in walking distance and a convenience store right across the road. The bad: the room itself has some serious wear. Marks on the carpet, walls, couch. The outside semi-private patio was not really in a usable condition, so the room was very much a sleep/shower and go on our way situation. Our "neighbors" upstairs were smoking weed all night as soon as the staff left for the day (I guess thats the negative of the self-serve situation). At first you could only smell it in the hallway, but we started smelling it in our room when we went to bed.
