The Porter House Hotel Sydney MGallery

We had a fantastic stay at the Porter house hotel! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the room- it was so clean and spacious and the technology of controlling the curtains/ tv/ room service through an iPad. We were greeted by a lovely card and delicious chocolates. Great location- walking distance to all attractions. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a Sydney getaway! close to the station to get to and from airport.

I visited the cafe downstairs and it was a nice spot for a catch-up Popped in for a quiet drink after work, first time visiting and loved how central it was. The atmosphere was relaxed with a thoughtful layout that made it easy to unwind. It had that nice vibe where people come for proper catch-ups, not just a quick drink it seemed. While the wine list wasn’t quite to my taste nor was the wine I selected, there were plenty of options, including other beverages I didn’t get a chance to try. It was a pleasant surprise that their hot drinks menu was still available in the evening too. A lovely touch, they dimmed the lights shortly after we arrived, which made it feel even more inviting. I’d definitely consider going back to explore the rest of the drinks menu.

Very nice design hotel with very comfortable rooms and a thoughtful welcome gift. However the lack of integration with the restaurant and bar is disappointing. I’ve never seen any property, let alone a 5 star property, only allow coffee or juice as a welcome drink from a licensed bar, and the $8 charge for a simple side like an egg or a serve of bacon with breakfast is outrageous. Unfortunately this alone means I wouldn’t come back on principle, as a platinum member I get better value elsewhere.
