I absolutely loved my stay at The Postcard Velha in Goa. The rooms were incredibly spacious, full of character, and well-maintained, with a sense of authenticity rather than modern sleekness. The large bathroom, comfortable bed, and the ability to open the doors for fresh morning air made it feel even more special. The only small downside was that the air conditioning in my room was well past its expiry date and needed replacing. The service was exceptional, with a surprising staff-to-room ratio for such an intimate property. Every staff member, from management to the spa attendant, was welcoming and attentive. (Best massage from Tensing(sp??), I’ve had in a long time!) Dining was lovely in terms of setting and flexibility, with beautiful outdoor spaces and no rigid meal times. However, while the food was good, it sometimes felt slightly off in style, and breakfast was far more complicated than it needed to be. The atmosphere of the property is truly unique—it feels more like staying in a private villa than a hotel. The residential setting, tucked among other homes, makes it feel intimate and non-commercial. The location was perfect for me; being closer to Old Goa rather than the beach areas meant a far more authentic and less commercial experience, exactly how I wanted to explore Goa. While the price was higher than I expected to pay in India, I enjoyed my time there so much that it now feels like an afterthought. Overall, The Postcard Velha is an incredibly special place, and I would absolutely return.
This was without a question the most stylish, romantic and exquisite hotel during my recent trip in India. Set in a beautiful and quiet garden, the hotel consists of two very attractive buildings with comfortable rooms and sophisticated decor. The manager and his employees are dedicated to fulfill their guests‘ wishes when it comes to the meals, transportation and, in general, their well-being.
Beyond being a boutique hotel with just a handful of rooms nestled in the heart of nature, you'll experience service worthy of a luxury palace. The team members are incredibly attentive, constantly surprising you with thoughtful gestures throughout your stay. They'll go above and beyond to ensure you feel right at home. Meals and many drinks are homemade, and the variety is impressive. The breakfasts, in particular, are exceptional.
