Beautiful hotel and great customer service. I had caught a cab from Haneda airport which was 7200¥, but it was late and I didn't want to deal with the train. This hotel is literally the next block over from Tokyo Tower among a few great eateries. If you're lucky you can get the rooms with the night view of Tokyo Tower. I only stayed a night, but I wish I had stayed there longer. If I'm in the area again this will definitely be one of my choices!
Service: Excellent. Staff is extremely friendly. We had a issue with the room and the staff was overly apologetic to us regarding the issue. House keeping managing came into our room the apologize. They switched our room and then as we checked out the next day the head of the house keeping came to apologize and then another manager came to apologize over the room issue. Hotel and Rooms: Excellent hotel and much larger than the rest of the hotels we stayed in our 2 week stay in Japan. I would definitely rebook this hotel on our next trip. The rooms style are not as modern as some of the newer hotels which is expected. The hotel is very large takes a while awhile to walk to the 7-eleven inside the hotel from the main entrance. Location: Close to train station, Tokyo tower, temples, and 5 minute cab ride to a downtown area. There is a spot nearby every likes to use to take pictures of the Tokyo Tower.
The Prince Park Hotel is a love-hate kind of place. We paid for the pricey corner panoramic room with a view of Tokyo tower. I should first note that Tokyo tower is pretty ugly. Photos are deceiving. It looks like an oil rig. But that is not the hotel's fault. Anyway, returning to the hotel: the top bars and restaurants on the top floors were a big draw for us but were under renovation. They should have notified us since we made the booking a long time ago and offered a discount but we did not find out until we got there. Very disappointing. They could not offer any free meals. Instead they offered a room upgrade. But since we already had the best room, all they could do was put us in the same room on a higher floor. We told them we did not want that but they did not listen. They next fisted a 5% discount card for their first-floor bar. Aside from being a minuscule discount, the bar itself has stacks of these discount cards already. It felt deceptive. Finally, they offered a free champagne bottle and free minibar service. The attempt to make up for not notifying about renovations was admirable but fell well short. The room was clean and had a nice view but was small. The tub was a jacuzzi though which was great. The staff was excellent in terms of room service, phone calls, and room cleaning. They work very hard. The amenities are terrible because they all cost extra. All of them. EVEN THE POOL! I kid you not. It's truly disgraceful for a 5-star hotel to charge extra for the pool. Do not book here.
