Best Roast I have ever had! Fantastic service, quality food. Great choice of menu. Great setting and vibe. Extremely clean restaurant and staff were very friendly. Will be returning 100% and will be looking to use the hotel use too.

After a superb visit a few weeks back, popped in for lunch without a booking. Service standard was again very high and nothing was too much trouble. One of our friends is vegetarian and she loved the cauliflower steak. Our waitress was friendly, very attentive and we had an amazing afternoon.

Went for afternoon tea. The staff were all lovely and polite. The garden was lovely, with a bar outside and lots of tables. Car park on site, but if your walking to the front of the building, this can be difficult due to the pavement / no pavement and on coming traffic. The building is very dark inside due to the listed buildings' wood panels, so I did have a bit of an issue with seeing slight steps. My eyesight in that respect is fine, so someone with issues may struggle as the floor is dark, too. The tables indoors were already packed with items before we sat down, and I already thought there were going to be issues with space when they brought the food, and there was sadly. It was very squashed, and I had to move with utmost care to not knock things over or rub my clothes in food. Meat and vegetarian options available. The sandwiches were the open style. This caused the filling to spill down my top a bit, and it was hard to eat. I didn't realise at first that they were greasy (please see picture) and I am not sure why.... we had to ask for plates for the deserts as sandwiches so messy. This created more issues with space. The scone was lovely and light inside. The chocolate cornetto was greasy ( filo pastry?) And the lemon / raspberry moose had an odd texture that wasn't great. It was very hard to eat, as it came in what looked like a test tube. There was a lot left over as portions are big, but we didn't want to eat more for the reasons mentioned. Some of it was nice, but some not at the same time. Tea pots came out, but still things were not being removed, so I sat back trying not to touch the table. Toilets were clean and enough space to not be squashed up against the loo, which was very good. All in all, a few things that need to be looked at. It's a lovely old building, with nice staff, but the food caused me to feel concern that my stomach was not feeling the greatest afterward.
