Our six-day stay at the Ravenala Attitude was truly enjoyable. The first thing that stood out was the variety and quality of the restaurants - each offered good food, and the all-inclusive drinks list was also quite comprehensive. The atmosphere of the hotel has a nice balance: it’s family-friendly, yet still feels calm and relaxing. The huge swimming pools are perfect for a quiet swim, and we even enjoyed watching the ducks paddling alongside us! One of the real highlights was the boathouse team. They were not only very friendly but also offered a wide range of included water activities, which made our days even more fun. It’s true that some areas of the hotel show their age, but given the size of the property, it’s clear renovations are done progressively. This didn’t affect our experience at all. If there’s one small downside, it would be the relatively high price for laundry. Overall, the Ravenala Attitude doesn’t feel massified, but instead provides a lot of thoughtful extras and activities that made our stay special. We left with beautiful memories and can definitely recommend it.
Overall it was good but it was not a 4 star hotel experience that it said it was. Rooms let it down. Real mixed bag. They were doing a lot of work day and night to do up older rooms, which is good but there was always noise or workmen around. Our first ones there was no hot water for 6 days and cockroaches in bathrooms. Next rooms we were moved to were in better condition but much noisier from kitchen fans or something. The staff however were brilliant and some great hosting of games and music. Food generally good. We preferred Kot Nou, Bistrot and Madame Ming restaurant. Probably not the place you want to come if you want quiet spaces, as most areas are playing music. As I run my own business it was hard to find areas to work and concentrate. I wouldn’t massively recommend hiring a car as the roads and slower and more crowded than UK. Overall the locals are brilliant and I love the Mauritian/French vibe. If I came again, I would try another hotel.
NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. Very disappointing stay. Staff were generally unfriendly, and renovations were happening just meters from our room and the beach. Pools have no sea view and face an unattractive building. Food was bland and unimaginative. Also the “9” restaurants are all fully booked so you’re left with the boarding school food from the buffet or the beach restaurant which scrapes the barrel in terms of flavour. Two cockroaches in our room, squeaky floorboards, towel kiosk often unattended, and one barman/waiter covering the entire beach. A waiter even refused to serve my wife because he was too busy. Our “upgrade” to the adults-only section was just a narrow strip of sand leading to sharp black rocks. The main bar smells like an abandoned pub. Overall, neglected, grubby and not worth the price.
