The Rebyl is a beautifully transformed women’s school, now part of Marriott’s Tribute Collection. While some architectural details hint at the building’s past—such as the doors and certain structural elements—the overall layout made it hard to fully picture its original form. It would be a nice touch to include historical photos or displays to better connect guests with the building’s history. We arrived early, and while check-in wasn’t available yet, the staff happily stored our bags so we could explore the city. When we returned, check-in was quick and efficient. The staff was exceptionally friendly, providing helpful recommendations on must-see spots in the area. Our loft-style room was well-appointed, featuring a comfortable bed, a shower, and a separate bathtub. The TV offered a good selection of channels, and we appreciated how quiet the room was—we slept soundly without any street noise. The location was also excellent, with everything we needed within walking distance. The room also had a fridge and filter coffee with a French press, which was a nice touch. However, there was no decaf option in the room. While decaf is available at the restaurant, it comes at a cost of €3. One standout feature was the gym—it was by far the best one I’ve encountered at a Marriott property in Europe. The equipment was top-notch, and the space was well-designed for a great workout. Although the breakfast spread looked inviting, as Platinum Elite members we opted for the 1,000 points instead, which is a generous perk compared to the 500-point offering at many other hotels. Overall, The Rebyl provided a great stay, and if we find ourselves in the area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Best hotel I’ve ever been to. The staff were very kind and helpful. Wonny helped us understand the public transportation and talked with us daily. We will be returning to the hotel next time we are in the Netherlands!
Nice old building in a good location. I had a nice room with modern furniture & high ceiling. Breakfast was also delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was the policy of cleaning the room only every three days.
