My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary in July 2025. They were nice enough to allow us to store our expensive bikes in the room. We were very pleased with our stay. The outside bar is awesome with some of the best bay views around. Sax was very good as well. Years ago the food was sub-par, but that’s completely changed. Strip steak was very good and comes with two sides. We also got couples massages at the salt spa which we were very happy with and will go again. Parking was valet and they conveniently park the cars in the lot by Coffee Talk Cafe which is a block away. I needed something from my car and didn’t want them to have to bring my car around just to get something. Very pleased overall. Hotel pricing also seems to have stabilized in Avalon/Stone Harbor which is nice because everything was way too high. We started going on destination vacations because it was cheaper than going to the beach until now. Would you believe I went to Aspen for a week last year and flew into Aspen for half of the price of going to the beach for a weekend? I did and it was better. Glad to see prices coming back down to normal - Realtor
We attended a wedding reception here. It was our first time in Stone Harbor. It is a lovely setting for a venue. A bit tight in the bar area, and access to the amazing deck was odd from the ballroom. The food was good and an all-around nice time! Great sunset views, and there was a shuttle to and from the beach from the hotel for wedding guests!
Stayed for 1 night at The Reeds. I called ahead of time probably around 10:30 am to let the front desk know we would be arriving ~12:30pm for a possible early check in. Lady on the phone said rooms can only be guaranteed at 3 pm, but we could come early and do “Pre-registration” to have our room moved up on the house cleaning priority list. So we did exactly that and the front desk said she’d call us when the room was ready. Lo and behold, I received the call at 3:06 pm…so much for “prioritization.” What I don’t understand is how it took that long to turn over a room when it looked like nothing was even cleaned - see photos attached, looks like dried up blood spots in the tub which we did NOT use, there was sand in our bedding, and lip stains on the water glasses. The makeup mirror was broken & could not be propped up for usage. The valet took at least 15-20 mins to get your car, so make sure to factor that in when rushing for any event/dinner. None of these things would normally warrant a negative review from me (honestly don’t care about much) but considering this was $710.95 for ONE NIGHT, I expected far better. Do yourself a favor and book one of the other hotels literally down the block from the Reeds and save some $$ to use at one of the local shops in the area. Oh and when Monica at the front desk asked “how did you enjoy your stay?,” I responded with “your valets could go a bit faster” - all I got was a blank look of disgust. No apologies, no explanations - like at least have the brain or wits to lie and say SOMETHING like “one of the valet drivers is out for the weekend/our hotel is at capacity” etc. The fact that they were even too lazy to try to cover up their shortcomings should say enough
