I didn't stay, so I can't comment on the rooms, but the function room is very nice with beautiful views of the sea outside. The buffet food was excellent with reasonable quantities for the number of guests. Staff are professional, organised and friendly and the evening went well without a hitch. There's plenty of parking on site and even a couple of EV chargers.
A generally pleasant stay with a few hiccups We recently stayed at the Relais Cooden Beach Hotel and overall had a lovely time, though there were a few things that could be improved. The rooms were light, airy, clean, and very comfortable — a great space to relax. However, it's worth noting there was no air conditioning, which might be a concern in warmer months. The hotel’s restaurant is large and pleasant, offering picturesque sea views. It’s open to the public, so booking is essential. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure a table for Sunday lunch on the day we arrived, which was disappointing, but we have to say that when ordering our meals later that day, they were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Service from staff was a bit hit and miss. While some team members were very helpful and welcoming, others weren’t quite as attentive, leading to a few errors with our food and drink orders. We appreciated the free parking and were pleasantly surprised to find 24-hour room service available. That said, there was no menu provided in the room, and the phone to reception wasn’t working, which made ordering difficult. A nice touch was the complimentary water in the room, though the bottle wasn’t sealed, which raised some hygiene concerns. Despite these small issues, we would return. The location, atmosphere, and some truly kind staff members made our stay generally enjoyable. For guests wishing for relaxation and pampering, there is a beautiful spa on hand with a wonderful array of products to complement your treatments, which smelled amazing when checking in!
Nice place to sit right on the beach. Extortionate prices if you don't drink!! We were charged £8.50 for a pineapple and lemonade! Queried it and were told we had to pay for a large lemonade at £5 and £3.50 for a pineapple juice even though once they mixed it at the bar it equated to less than a small lemonade as the ice and pineapple juice took up most of the room in the glass! Won't be going back.
