the rex Zermatt

Everything about The Rex was wonderful and absolute luxury. The rooms were great and were such a cozy place to come home to at the end of the day. The outdoor restaurant in the front had great cocktails and was also really beautiful. We loved spending our evening on the balcony with spectacular views of the Matterhorn! We also really enjoyed the use of the spa for hotel guests from 7-9 after a long day of hiking- an absolute must to check out! We also enjoyed that it was slightly off the main busy street so we were able to get away from the crowds without adding a lot to our commute to and from the train station. It’s very walkable, but they also provide free transportation if you require it. Thanks to the great staff for everything!

The BEST stay in Zermatt... 5 STARS Honestly, this was such a neat surprise and experience. I was greeted warmly on arrival at check in and things kept getting better. The free shuttle ride to The Rex was appreciated, and the bakery/breakfast was incredibly 5* awesome.... Thinking about this stay makes me want to head back soon (hopefully later this year...). The room was warm and cozy, just what you need after a long day hiking and visiting the Matterhorn. I think this place will be my go to when visiting Zermatt. I am grateful to all the staff at The Rex for making my stay first class. I would recommend anyone to visit and stay at The Rex.

Rex Hotel was a great find! The location is perfect—iconic views, right in the center of restaurants and shopping, and within walking distance to the train and ski lifts. The hotel staff was phenomenal: available 24 hours a day, very professional, and incredibly accommodating. The view was absolutely stunning—couldn’t wish for anything better. The sauna was perfect, and I only wish I had the energy to enjoy the full-size pool… maybe next year!
