Great location. Front desk staff is amazing! Cleaning staff could do better, room was very dusty. Under construction but should be great when done. Sadly, not keeping up with the pool. The parking situation needs to change. Not sure why you require paid valet when parking lots and garage are available. The paid parking is new. Implenting paid park during a very large construction project makes little sense.
Was greeted as soon as we pulled up and front desk was helpful. The beds are horrible! Not what I’ve experienced at other Marriott’s. I could hear the springs when I laid on the bed and it indented so strongly that I checked to make sure there was accurate support underneath…(for reference, I am 118lbs so it wasn’t my weight). Air is musty.
We stayed for Thursday through Sunday morning. I’ve stayed here there or four times before when it was the Marriot Solona. It wasn’t great, but those stays were fine. This weekend stay with the new branding and construction was the worst stay that I recall ever having at a Marriott. On Saturday night the fire alarms went off for about an hour around 3:30-4:30am. My wife and I got our 3 year old and 7 month old kids up and outside and sat in front of the hotel and then next to the coffee shop for the hour. There were around a dozen guests outside and two fire trucks. No staff ever explained what was going on, acknowledged the issue, or anything — a fireman let us know we could go back inside after they finally resolved the alarm. We then all had a rough Sunday of fatigue and exhaustion since the fire alarm had my family of 4 standing and walking around outside around the alarm noise and flashing fire truck lights from 3:30-4:30am. I don’t think I have ever had a worse stay at a Marriott than the weekend at this hotel under new management. No explanation, apology, or any communication ever came from them afterward either. Also, the fitness center is inaccessible. The available rooms are the same old ones, and the parking has been changed to paid valet only. Just awful hotel and business management to go along with a brutal Saturday night disruption for us and our little kids.
