The Rice Joglo Eco Stay

We had a truly memorable stay at Rice Juggalo as a family of five in the Firefly Gigolo. Sonu was the most wonderful host, so kind, attentive, and always making sure we were looked after. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights and the food was absolutely exquisite, some of the best we’ve had on our travels. Breakfast each morning was just as delicious and beautifully prepared. The Firefly Gigolo is about a 10-minute walk from the main property The room itself was beautifully designed; wooden, Balinese style, and thoughtfully decorated with lots of lovely details. There was a charming outdoor kitchen, though we didn’t use it as we ate at the main property. The bathroom is an indoor/outdoor setup, so you may see the occasional ant or lizard, but that’s all part of the experience and it didn’t bother us at all. In fact, being picked up by mopeds from the main road when we arrived added a real sense of adventure, especially for the kids who thought it was the highlight of the day! The pool at the main site was lovely, fresh, clean, and the perfect way for the children to cool off. They also adored the animals on the farm and loved getting involved with feeding them and even washing the tortoises. It’s such a special place for children to run free, play, and connect with nature. We felt so welcomed and relaxed throughout our stay. Highly recommend this peaceful little gem for families or anyone wanting an authentic, heartwarming experience.

Absolutely perfect stay here for our 4 nights in Ubud. Location is amazing amongst the rice fields and away from the chaos of central Ubud but still within walking distance (20 mins) which we walked sometimes a few times a day. Perfect! Staff here are so attentive and kind. Food is incredible!! Sonu is one of the funniest guys I’ve met and he was so helpful in organising our excursions. Everything was perfectly organised and he answered all my questions. I had a lot too 🤣 excellent all round! We stayed in Ravine villa which was so spacious for our family of 4 (almost 4 adults!). You won’t be disappointed!

Our stay here will stay with me for a long time. The location was a peaceful retreat from the busy streets of Ubud. The service was exceptional and the food was some of the best we had our whole trip in Bali. If you are looking for a different experience in accommodation I would choose the Rice Joglo♥️
