The Richmond Hotel Adelaide

Hi team, unfortunately the quality of food served was extremely poor. All the restaurants in surrounding area were booked out so we thought we give you guys a go. What a disappointment, being in the food industry, all you want when you go out is a good meal, esp when paying good money! I don’t want to point the finger to anyone but something needs to be done if you want bums in seats! There may have Been 20 people in total there, that speaks volumes.

The suggestion that this property is 4 star is ridiculous and frankly false advertising. It’s is shabby and grotty. My room suite had a mild smell of aged furnishings, damp and musty. I walked in and knew I couldn’t stay there. I booked my regular Adelaide hotel packed an overnight bag and went and stayed there. I am from Adelaide and "partied" at the Richmond in the 80s, its a far shadow of what it once was. There are far far far better options in Adelaide. And options built at a similar time that have been better maintained.

We were not advised about the process for late check in so getting to our room was stressful, however the young lady who took our call was very helpful. When I asked at reception the next day and said we didn’t know the reception was closed they said they had tried to contact us but because we booked through Agoda they couldn’t make contact. One of the towels had filthy stains on it so my husband had to go down to reception and get another towel. Had it been after hours that would not be an option. I didn’t trust the other towel was clean and had to use my beach towel. I would not recommend this hotel . The location can be quite handy for shops but to access taxis you have to arrange pick up on side streets.
