The Ritz Carlton Beijing

The hotel is located right in the city center, in one of Beijing’s most prestigious and upscale areas. Just behind the hotel, there’s a luxurious shopping mall that likely hosts the city’s most exclusive brands. Although the building itself is a bit old, you can clearly feel the class and high standards of the Marriott brand throughout the entire property. The signature scent used in the lobby is so pleasant that I would have loved to experience the same fragrance in my room and in the Club Lounge as well. The hotel offers a wide range of dining options, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. For cigar enthusiasts, there is also a dedicated Cigar Lounge bar. The quality of the products and the service in all restaurants and bars was excellent. Apart from occasional language barriers, everything else was absolutely five-star. The Ritz-Carlton Beijing is conveniently located beside a mall, offices and has good access to public transportation. The rooms, while a little dated, is large and could fit three comfortably. And as expected from The Ritz-Carlton brand, service was top notch. While some staff were not able to converse in English, they try to assist or get another staff to if they can’t. The breakfast spread was excellent. Apart from the usual comfort food, there is a spread of local delicacies, both savoury and sweet. I highly recommend the Ritz-Carlton Beijing for anyone looking for a pampered stay during their visit to Beijing.

Stayed a night here with redemption, to try out this Marriott brand. Does not really recognize Marriott status, extra fees for club lounge visits, no welcome gift. I have booked a city view with king bed and got slightly upgraded to club lounge level but without club lounge access. Access to club lounge requires extra fees. The upgraded room wasnt available to me, and was told given a nicer room with double bed. It was not an upgrade, there wasnt city view. Room wasnt any nicer, they were just out of king bed room. Felt deceived with no whatsoever recognition as a titanium member. Won't be coming back next round.
