The Ritz Carlton San Francisco

Second visit and had the chance to stay longer. The staff here make this hotel special. From the check in to every interaction, the experience is personal and engaging. We had lunch in the lobby lounge and room service. All very good. We were greeted by everyone we came in contact with. Our room was good with small sections showing wear. A door knob fell off and some of the furniture was scuffed. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping team was attentive and thoughtful.

The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of downtown, close to so many iconic spots. Watching the sunset from my room during golden hour felt like the city itself was telling me a quiet story from its golden past. The rooms were immaculate, and the staff were professional and warm. The gentleman who brought our luggage not only made us feel welcome but gave us great local tips that made our stay even more special. Breakfast was excellent. I have specific dietary needs, and they prepared everything exactly how I asked—something I truly appreciated. One of my favorite moments was in the evening—sitting in the lounge with a drink, watching the city skyline glow through the windows. It felt like a perfect pause in the middle of the urban rhythm, a moment of stillness in all the motion. I stayed here in 2022, and even now, the experience still stays with me. The charm of this hotel is truly timeless.

The room was spotless and the atmosphere — exactly what you’d expect from a historic hotel in the heart of the city. However, I have to mention that the level of customer service, especially at night, was not up to the standard I expected from a hotel of this caliber. It felt like the staff was either overwhelmed or simply not attentive, which was surprising given the reputation of the brand. Still, I appreciate the efforts of the team and hope my feedback helps improve the guest experience for others in the future.
