I’ve stayed in many hotels in DC for work, including the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown but this is the best I’ve seen. The service is absolutely exceptional; people are always going out of their way to help and when we missed cookie hour this evening, Eli from the front desk brought us up six different kinds of cookies and the recipe cards. We were amazed. The room is spacious and has so many practical things that are often overlooked: multiple luggage stands, a large closet with lots of hangers, a steamer, a makeup mirror with a light at eye level, a place to put your leg up to shave in the shower, diptyque products in the bathroom, a space to put things in the mini fridge. It really doesn’t get better than this in DC.

We had the best experience during our stay at the Ritz-Carlton in DC. Everything was top-notch, but what really made it special was the amazing service we received from Diana and Zak. They were incredibly professional, kind, and helpful throughout our stay — they truly went above and beyond. Thanks to them, our time here was unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back!

I’d sworn off Marriott for the longest time, but saw a good rate and wanted to give this hotel a go since I’d never stayed at a Ritz-Carlton. I’ll start with the good - the staff were friendly and very professional and the location was nice. The rooms were sizable and a bit outdated but decently maintained. However, it’s clearer to me more than ever that Marriott is no longer capable of a delivering a 5 Star hotel experience. They have value engineered their way to 4 Stars max at their Ritz, Luxury, and Design properties. A 5 Star hotel should feel inviting and comforting. You shouldn’t have to worry about anything, and the hotel should anticipate your needs and even go above and beyond. This is not possible when you’re cutting corners to save costs. The 5 Star experience is ruined when you try to make an extra dollar off your guests. What’s next - charging extra to run the air conditioner under 70 degrees? My generally good experience was flipped on its head by the shocking lack of service. Maybe try the Rosewood or Four Seasons if you want a real 5 Star hotel experience.
