The Ropemaker A Heartwood Inn

We had a great stay. Staff were welcoming, friendly and made certain everything was excellent. Very nicely appointed room with lots of extras. The main bar and dining room were spacious and well fitted out. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Nice to have linen napkins. As well as the dining room, there was a large outdoor patio to eat or drink, with grass area and trees. Emsworth centre was a short walk away. After dinner we walked to the local PG Wodehouse abode, and down to the estuary, about five minutes away.

We had an excellent two-night stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, creating a really comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Aircon would have been welcomed but we did stay during a heatwave. The food was outstanding - the quality of the ingredients was clear. It was so good that we ended up dining there three times during our stay.

A Wonderful Stay in Emsworth! Our stay was absolutely lovely—from the warm, attentive staff to the incredibly comfortable bed (which was hard to leave!). Thoughtful touches like welcome treats and a handwritten note made it feel extra special. The room and restaurant were both spacious, and we were lucky enough to enjoy a delicious meal on the garden terrace thanks to the good weather. One evening, we dined in and had the Chateaubriand steak—easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time—followed by a fantastic sticky toffee pudding. As a non-drinker, I also really appreciated the wide range of non-alcoholic options. Highly recommend this place if you’re staying in Emsworth. I’d happily return!
