Our son and his new wife booked exclusive use of this charming country pub for their wedding reception and evening entertainment. We were absolutely delighted with everything that Amelia, Mal and their dedicated team delivered. The welcome drinks, nibbles and photos took place in the lovely garden with countryside views. They had benefitted from a taster session prior and their choice of menu was all locally sourced fare, beautifully cooked and presented. Mal cooked the carrot cake they requested and later in the evening an impressive cheese tower was served. The attention to detail was much appreciated...wild flowers abounded. All was presented with calm professionalism and good humour. The ambience was perfect. What a talented couple. All enhanced a magical day.

Our stay at The Rose and Crown in Trent, Dorset, England was very good with the highlight definitely being the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff who were attentive to our every need. The rooms were well appointed though perhaps a little small especially for two people and a dog bur adequate. The welcome and provision for the dog by the way was excellent. Though Trent is a little off the beaten track, the location in its idyllic rural setting was delightful. All in all we can highly recommend breaking your journey at The Rose and Crown and enjoy what amounts to an authentic rural pub with dining room in a beautiful setting in the UK. And the food was good too!

The food was excellent, although it was very slow coming to the table, considering it was not that busy, it's lunchtime and the middle of the week. The bar staff were very on the ball and could see we were getting restless, but obviously, you can't rush a creative chef. Dog-friendly, although no dog bowls were offered.
