The Royal Kelowna Bellstar Hotels & Resorts

I was so looking forward to our trip and staying in this hotel. The pictures on the website show how amazing this hotel is supposed to be....well I was somewhat disappointed. While it is a nice hotel, you can tell that it is older. The front staff were not very friendly. There was still garbage and dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. It is in a great location and the views are good. But we will probably not be going back to this particular hotel...for the price we paid, it didn't Wow us.

The service here is good. However, the rooms are really dated and just have that old place smell. If you’ve visited the Middle East or Eastern Europe, it really has those vibes and you’ll understand. They definitely need to update and do something to make this place feel more luxury. The rooms are just big but it just feels very 1970’s!

We arrived after a long drive only to find the front entrance locked and completely unattended. There was no one at the front desk, and we couldn’t even enter the building. I attempted to call every number listed — not a single one was answered. We stood outside for 15 minutes until another guest happened to let us in. Once inside, there was no bell, no signage, and no staff in sight. It took nearly 30 minutes before an employee finally appeared, offering a barely audible, indifferent apology and showing no urgency or concern for the situation. To make matters worse, I had confirmed in advance that my vehicle would fit in their parking lot — yet upon arrival, it clearly did not. I was forced to park at a hotel next door and pay double the rate. There was no help offered with luggage, and no one even suggested a cart, let alone offered assistance. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable. The lack of basic hospitality, professionalism, and accountability reflects extremely poorly on this establishment. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property — it’s mismanaged, unwelcoming, and frankly, a complete disgrace
