We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in the 12 years we’ve been coming to Patong. We did enjoy our stay here. Positives We were in Room 1519 it was a smaller room but comfortable with nice views with a large wraparound balcony. Complimentary water in glass bottles Nice toiletries Comfortable king size bed Good housekeeping Excellent breakfast Quick lifts Restaurant staff were fantastic and a great job done by people on the egg station. All of these people are so good with the variety of guests and are very patient and professional Reception staff. Efficient and thorough. Very impressed on check out even though it was horrendously busy to see an older woman staff member make sure that people were treated properly and in turn. We checked out on 1 April. So many people she dealt with had taken items and she made sure they were returned. She was fair and direct. We had to wait 30 minutes to check out and ours was quick as everything was in order. Negatives Happy hour on level 23 was underwhelming. It’s too hot and it would have been nice if perhaps some peanuts or snacks were offered. Staff were nice. No access to the breakfast area by lift we would take the lift to level 3 and walk down to level 2. Food waste. I saw one sign saying Only Take what you need and eat what you take. Small placard on each table might help as it was terrible the food people just left. I know this is common practice but so sad. I am hoping the scraps were being fed to animals on farms locally or taken home by staff for their animals. The fruit was delicious but accessing it was hard. Not enough room and people pushing and shoving. For short people like myself taking fruit from the top shelf was difficult to see and reach.
For gay travellers then you can enjoy the gay bars practically on your doorstep, however those that like an early night sleep or a quiet setting have picked the wrong establishment, with loud music very audible until 2am almost every night. I slept with ear plugs. The hotel is also located within walking distance to the popular Bangla Rd and a plethora of restaurants, shops, markets, massage places etc. the immediate surrounds of hotel is pretty seedy looking and uninviting. But then again Patong is a shit hole so what do you expect. The hotel lobby smells foul, like sewerage. Not great first impressions. The rooms are acceptable, although the beds are quite hard. The bathroom and whole room could do with a renovation or modernisation to improve comfort and overall appeal. Yes the wifi is patchy and the TVs suck. The views are the best feature. Especially from the rooftop bar, grab a cocktail at sunset happy hour and prepare for the night ahead. The pool & swim up bar is popular and the service here is good. It's disappointing prices have increased substantially since I stayed here last. At least they have continued their happy hour tradition. Royal Paradise wasnt my choice to stay at and if I had my time again would probably prefer to stay somewhere else, however with that said, the price of accommodation was reasonable and my partner & friends continue to return time after time so they must be doing something right?
I went for family trip. I was really excited for it as I was meeting my sister after ages. I booked the hotel as it looked really good on picture. I paid more than 600$ for 3 nights via booking.com. When I reached hotel, they took us to another building (not the main building). So old looking, dirty, dusty. Less amenities. Balcony was filthy. The part of building below balcony, looked horrible. Had intolerable smell. I went to lobby to ask if they can change my room. We will adjust in small but better room- I requested. They mentioned it is not possible as they are full. And they could do next afternoon, however in same building. My whole day was ruined. It was late already to go to another hotel. We slept there that night. I booked another hotel very next morning and shifted. Next booking became automatically expensive as I had to book for same day. I am sharing here to let you know, so no one has to be scammed again with pictures. Also, you can hear street noise loud.
