The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji

We stayed here 10 nights and this was a perfect hotel experience for us. The location is fantastic; just far away enough from the center to avoid crowds of tourists but within easy walking and metro distance to anything and everything Osaka. The room was small, as is common in Japan, but was very well designed, clean, and functional; large bathroom with a great shower and soaking tub. Our high floor (23rd) allowed us to watch beautiful sunsets from our window. The restaurant and bar downstairs both offer excellent selections (the restaurant serves high end French gastronomy at very fair prices). The bar is a popular place for locals enjoying afternoon tea. We found the teppanyaki restaurant on the 1st floor absolutely divine and visited the busy (but accessible) coffee/breakfast place (also on the 1st floor) several times and really enjoyed it. Only positive experiences here. I highly recommend it.

Overall a great hotel and really happy with their service and hospitality. Only wish the bed was bigger. Rooms are great up to date with a nice bath and shower. My only issue is the bed is small for 2 people. I was very surprised compared to Tokyo hotels that an Osaka hotel had a worse bed. Frankly there’s room to increase their 2 person bed sizes as well. There’s a whole foot between the wall and sides of the bed available. Service however is top notch they are an amazing staff. Location is good close to stations as well as any major attractions you want to go to.

Think twice before booking. Hotel refused to cancel my reservation even though I cancelled in advance. Staff refused to respond on purpose and delayed till the day itself so 100% cancellation fee will be charged. I contacted the day before which is supposed to be 80% cancellation fee but Hotel informed it's 100% for 3 days before check-in date. However their website states otherwise, when confronted, they did not respond. They were not understanding at all and did not even try to help. Regarding another person's review about the false air of sophistication, it's true. It's to the point where it feels condescending and they are looking down at us. Extremely bad customer service for a 5star hotel. Should be revised to a 3 or 4 star hotel. Only good thing about the hotel is the location, at this price you are better off staying at other 5 star hotels. Many other better options.
